Why powder coat

KECA metal chairs and barstools are finished with commercial-grade powder coating rather than liquid paint. The colour is applied as a fine powder, then cured under heat into a single hard-wearing layer that bonds to the metal frame. The result resists chipping, scratching and fading far better than conventional paint — the standard for contract and hospitality furniture in daily service.

Because the coating is sealed and non-porous, it wipes clean easily and holds up to humidity, sunlight and temperature swings — so the same finishes suit indoor dining rooms and covered patios alike. Every finish is available across our metal seating, so one tone can run consistently from dining chairs to counter- and bar-height stools throughout a project.

Specifying a tone

The right finish depends on the feeling you want the room to have and the materials around it. Deep, grounding tones like Black Noir and Gray Arsenic add contrast and structure to large or loft-style spaces; soft neutrals like Warm Gray, Beige and Bone Glitter recede quietly and let upholstery, wood and stone lead. For warmth without weight, earthy greens like Olive Green sit beautifully alongside natural oak, walnut and terracotta.

Consider light, too: pale finishes such as White and Mint Gray open up compact or low-lit rooms, while saturated accents — Red, Orange, Red Wine, Yellow — are best used deliberately, on a feature area or a handful of chairs, to guide the eye rather than overwhelm.
